Midwest Farm, Carmin Illinois

It's a funny thing about the corn fields and endless flat horizons that make up the Midwest. I spent a great deal of my adolescence trying to escape them and felt that small town life was beneath me. In recent years I have been going back to visit my family which are all mostly located in a small town about 100 miles west of Saint Louis Missouri.

Now when I go back I'm confronted with a new feeling of simplicity and calmness. I know that small towns in America are littered with problems and stereotypes but going back I can understand the reasons to want a slower and calmer existence.
